Nice old place, tucked away in the green landscape between two mountain sides. Some particularly beautiful old buildings, but other than that... The old water system and picnic site has seen better days. Should be maintained a bit better imho. Visited the location in a very dry season so not much of a spectacular waterfall going on, but I figure it can be.. The Thermal Hotel in the village looks nice, the one downhill, next to a factory site looks dreadfull.. Worth a short visit. At the moment Monchique is very quiet and empty with a few families enjoying the peace and tranquility of the gardens.
